Organic Aloe (Pty) Ltd was previously known as Mosselbaai Albertinia Aalweë Produsente, M.A.A.P.

“We at Organic Aloe (Pty) Ltd. manufacture and sell high quality products that are safe and economical. With the prudent use of all our natural resources we ensure that the right product is always available at the right time, at the right price.”

When Dr Leon du Plessis confirmed that Aloe ferox could be processed in a similar manner to the popular Aloe Vera species he understood the extraordinary possibilities of this beautiful Southern Cape plant.

With the help of 46 farmers, friends and family across the country his dream to expand from a humble home-industry began to realise. 5 of the farmers enthusiastically took the lead, namely; Dr Tewis Müller; his nephew Heyns Müller; Mr Jantjie Horn; Dr Frikkie Kunz and his son-in-law, George Aspinal.

The most important Pretoria member was Dr (Prof) M C Botha, the Immunologist participated in of Dr Chris Barnard’s heart-transplant team. He was to play a pivotal role in the development of the embryonic undertaking and in the course of his involvement, was responsible for the registration of two patents whereby gel is extracted from the leaves.

Other Pretoria participants were Mickey Broughton and our Chairman of the Board of Directors Adv. Dan Neser(still the main shareholder in our Company) who showed great faith in the venture by investing a great deal financially, thus keeping the company afloat in its beginning stages.

As the company grew to maturity in the late 1990’s the burgeoning demand for the product through agent sales made it necessary to divide the company’s two main markets.

The cosmetics wing of the company was established as a separate business entity with its own brand name and factory, House of Aloes. While for effective marketing purposes the raw materials wing was re-named Organic Aloe (Pty) Ltd.

By ensuring strict ecologically friendly processes and selecting suppliers locally, Organic Aloe remains a Proudly South African Company.
